Actor FAQs
Finding opportunities, tracking applications, and managing your work.
What is Today?
Today is your personal BGNow dashboard. It summarizes upcoming bookings and submitted applications and points you to the next step. It is not another casting feed.
What is Bee Cast?
Bee Cast is where performers discover casting notices and background opportunities. Review eligibility, dates and the original source before applying.
Where are my submitted applications?
Open Today → My Applications to review saved and submitted gigs, availability checks and casting responses. A submission is not a confirmed booking.
What goes into BOOKINGS?
Confirmed bookings and your own recorded bookings belong in BOOKINGS, where you can open job details and SETDAY. Always follow the latest agency confirmation for your official call time, location and instructions.
How do I import a booking email?
Use the Booking Email Assistant to paste a booking email. Review the parsed production, date, call time, locations and wardrobe details, correct any missing information, and check the required acknowledgement before saving. Parsing cannot guarantee that every email is understood correctly.
What if a casting or booking date looks wrong?
Check the original notice or agency email. A casting application deadline is not necessarily the shoot date. If the shoot date is missing or ambiguous, do not guess: confirm it with the casting contact or agency before saving or relying on it.
What are Badges and why are some covered?
Badges celebrate verified BGNow and on-set milestones in a connected honeycomb. Locked badges show only a mystery honeycomb and lock. Their names, artwork and requirements are revealed only once BGNow verifies that they have been earned. Some milestones do not yet have automatic verification.
Can Queen Bees see my private information?
Agency and casting access is separated from your private SETDAY notes, personal bookings, vouchers and pay tracking. An actor must opt in to be discoverable in the Queen Bee actor directory.
Does BGNow replace the agency's instructions?
No. Always confirm your booking and any changes directly with your agency. The original and latest agency instructions control, especially call time, holding, transportation and wardrobe.
How do memberships work?
Check the live membership information in your Profile for your actual access and the current membership details before any payment. A paid Founder Lifetime membership is a one-time purchase, not a recurring performer membership fee.
Where can I report a bug or suggest an improvement?
Signed-in performers can use Buzz Box for private feedback. For login, parser, booking, payment or other account problems, email support@bgnow.ca with your device, issue and the relevant six-digit GIG ORDER #. Never share passwords or full payment-card numbers.
Agency FAQs
Answers for new and established agency and casting teams (Queen Bees).
Who can use the agency portal?
Background casting agencies and independent productions can create a Queen Bee account at Queen Bee signup. Registration and unlimited job postings are free. Verify your email, then copy, paste and publish casting notices with no credit limits or purchase required.
How can a Queen Bee post a casting call?
After verifying your email, copy your complete casting notice, paste it into Post As Is, and choose Save & Post Job. You do not have to complete the optional detail fields to publish. Check the original notice's roles, dates, eligibility and application instructions before posting.
Can I paste a casting email or notice?
Yes. Paste your original notice, including multiple roles and date ranges, into Post As Is. Preview the result before publishing, particularly any fonts, colours, links or other copied formatting. The fields below are optional ways to improve the posting; they are not required for a simple paste-and-post.
How are shoot dates and application deadlines handled?
Shoot dates and application deadlines are different. Keep all dates stated in your original notice, including approximate dates and ranges such as October 14–18. Do not replace a date range with an invented single shoot date, and do not treat an application deadline as the shoot date. Optional structured fields can clarify confirmed details.
What if a casting notice has several roles or shoot days?
One pasted notice can include several roles or possible shoot dates. Keep the complete original requirements and review the preview before publishing. Separate postings are optional when roles or dates truly need separate applications or bookings.
Where can we see performer submissions?
Use your agency portal's applicant or submission view for your own postings. A performer applying through an external casting email or site may not appear as a BGNow submission automatically.
How do we book a performer and avoid a double booking?
Use the booking action within your agency workflow after reviewing the submission and confirming availability. BGNow is designed to prevent two confirmed bookings for the same performer on the same shoot date, including across agencies. If you encounter a conflict or unexpected result, contact support before relying on it.
Can another agency see our applicants?
Agency access is intended to be isolated: each agency should only manage its own postings, submissions and bookings. Report any unexpected access to support@bgnow.ca immediately.
Can agencies see a performer's SETDAY, vouchers or pay records?
No. Personal SETDAY details, voucher information and pay tracking are performer-private. The agency portal does not grant access to them.
Where can agencies get help or report a problem?
Email support@bgnow.ca with the issue, your agency name and the relevant six-digit GIG ORDER # if available. Do not send passwords or private performer records.
Helpful for everyone
Answers that apply to performers, agencies and casting teams alike.
What if a shoot date or call time looks wrong?
Check the original casting notice or the latest agency confirmation before acting. A submission deadline is not the shoot date, and a crew call is not necessarily a performer's call time. If the information is unclear, verify it with the original contact rather than assuming.
How can I report a problem with BGNow?
Email support@bgnow.ca. Include your account role, device, the steps that led to the issue and the six-digit GIG ORDER # when relevant. Never email a password, verification token or full payment-card information.
Contact
Email support@bgnow.ca for account, booking, application, SETDAY, privacy, or technical support.
When you contact us
Please include the email address used for your BGNow account and a short description of the issue. If the problem concerns a gig, include the six-digit GIG ORDER # when available. Do not send passwords or other authentication secrets.
Account access
For sign-in problems, start from the BGNow sign-in screen and use the built-in email-verification or password-reset controls.
Email verification
BGNow verification links expire after 24 hours and can be used only once. If you requested more than one verification email, use the newest message to avoid confusion. After a successful verification, outstanding verification links for that account are invalidated.
Password reset
Password-reset links expire after 1 hour and can be used only once. A successful password reset signs out existing BGNow sessions so the new password becomes the account's trusted sign-in credential.
If the email does not arrive
Check spam or junk folders and confirm you are using the same email address as your BGNow account. Use the resend/reset control again rather than guessing a verification or reset link. If delivery still fails, contact support.
Reporting a sign-in or account problem
Tell us the device and browser you are using, the screen you were on, the action you took, and the exact error message shown. A screenshot can help when it does not expose private information.
Never send BGNow your password, verification token, password-reset token, session cookie, or full payment-card details.
Account deletion
Eligible signed-in users can permanently delete their BGNow account from inside the app. If you cannot access your account, contact support for assistance.
Launch information
Performers can review the Basic free forever, optional Premium, and Founder Lifetime details. Approved agency/casting users can review the Queen Bee controlled-beta overview.
